HAART offers HIV primary medical care via The Caring Clinic of Louisiana, which is staffed by trained physicians and nurse practitioner. The Caring Clinic is conveniently located in the same building as HAART in suite 115 and also accepts Medicaid, Medicare, & insurance in addition to Ryan White funds. The clinic is an internal medicine practice and not specific to the treatment of HIV/AIDS. Given this fact, clients feel more comfortable accessing services and are less fearful of their diagnosis being disclosed. For an appointment, please call (225) 927-1269 to speak with the Early Intervention Services (EIS) Coordinator, Kelly Richter, LCSW.
Medical Case Management is provided by Bachelor and Master's level social workers and those with degrees in various helping professions. Services are tailored to ensure treatment adherence and positive health outcomes. Medical Case Managers can assist clients with access to medications, dental referrals, transportation to medical appointments and referrals for other supportive services. They are also available to help clients navigate the complex systems of Medicaid, Medicare, and insurance to ensure timely access to care.
