AIDS Candlelight Memorial
HIV/AIDS Alliance for Region Two (HAART) and other local AIDS service organizations is coordinating the observance for Baton Rouge. Held on Sunday, May 19 at 6:30 p.m. in downtown Baton Rouge’s North Boulevard Town Square, the memorial sponsored by Avita Drugs Pharmacy will feature Baton Rouge Councilwoman Donna Collins-Lewis, The New Orleans Gay Men’s Chorus and a Candlelight Vigil. The Memorial will include a walk through downtown in the style of a jazz funeral with music performed by The Michael Foster Project. A wreath will be laid on the steps of City Hall to remind our city leaders of the epidemic affecting Baton Rouge.
Refreshments, acupuncture, and free HIV testing will be available to all that attend.
