This HUD program provides funding specifically to address the housing needs of those who are living with
HIV/AIDS. HAART is the largest single recipient of HOPWA funds in Louisiana outside of the New Orleans
area. Last year, HAART delivered nearly more than $900,000 in HOPWA assistance to more than 1,200
HIV+ clients. This year, HAART will provide more than $1 million in HOPWA funding to even more clients
through short-term rent and utility assistance, tenant-based housing projects, housing information services
and project-based assistance.
Source of funding: City of Baton Rouge's Office of Community Development (OCD) from the Department of Housing and Urban
Development (HUD).
